Dear Obese People,

February 25, 2008 at 12:00 am (Obesity)

First off, I’m fat too, so don’t think you’re copping crap from more skinny people, ’cause that’s not me.

Now.

I understand the mom who does McD’s because she’s busy and needs a quick meal. Not the best choice – find a grocery store with a deli! – but I understand. I understand the person who only gets so long to go get food and then eat it on their lunch break. I was there. I had to use a drive through sometimes.

What I don’t understand with y’all is this:

McD’s is NOT GOOD FOR YOU.

I understand the above situations, like I said. You have – or think you have – no alternatives in those situations. But what I don’t get is people who sit in the food courts digging in to their McD burger of the day, when there all healthier alternatives ALL AROUND.

When an obese person sits in front of the health food section of the food court chomping away at the latest giganta-burger, something is wrong. You have alternatives, and yet you decide on McD’s over a fresh and healthy sandwich? Some vegetable-filled Chinese food? The salad bar, the soup place, the place that does awesome wraps you can even get grilled…

Hello! If you have alternatives, take them up! If you’re sitting there chowing down on the McD’s when you have healthy alternatives that are just as cheap, you’re not going to get any sympathy from anyone about your weight or people mistreating you because of your weight.

No sympathy at all.

Shaking my head,

Trying hard to lose the weight

Amen to that! I’m fat too and trying to sort it out – the first stage is to understand WHY you’re fat and deal with your head. If you can’t relaise that burgers are made of knee-caps and nuts then there’s no hope for you.

Most ‘fast food’ is chemical filled garbage and should be destroyed!! Grrr!

A hearty amen from me as well! I wholeheartedly agree with FatBlokeThin.
